Sickle Cell Disease Symposium

Please join us for this exciting symposium on sickle cell research.

This symposium will highlight the history of sickle cell disease and the progress in treatment and health over the past 100 years since the initial discovery and primarily focus on integrated and multidisciplinary approaches required for future (next century) advances.  The working/interactive meeting will bring together sickle cell clinical and basic research experts, health disparity and public policy experts, community advocates and consumers for shared dialogue and planning to generate new ideas and spawn innovative partnerships and collaborations.  An expected outcome of the meeting is a blueprint for forward movement through activities such as multi-investigator, multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary center grant applications, joint organized meetings, and community-based efforts.
